RedZ is the Yoshian Guardian of Courage. She was born to a couple that met while serving in the Yoshian Army in a small village on the northern part of Yoshi's Island. Throughout her childhood, she lived a simple, yet peaceful life in the quiet village. Technology had a minor presence as many of the villagers performed their tasks such as hunting by hand. As a child, her parents taught her everything she needed to know when it came to surviving in the wilderness. Her mother also taught her basic hand-to-hand combat so that she could defend herself. At around the age of eight, her father began to teach her the ways of the fire arts. She underwent strict training for three years, growing stronger mentally and physically. She learned a variety of moves and also created several of her own moves to keep enemies at bay. At the age of 13, she developed her most powerful move; the Ring of Fire. All she has to do to perform this move is charge her energy to its maximum level and focus it onto a certain area or enemy. If the move is successful, a large ring will be created on the ground, surrounding a rather large area. The ring then grows into a massive fire tornado, causing extreme heat and damage to anything nearby the powerful tornado. Anything inside the tornado is completely burned into nothingness. However, this move does require a large amount of energy and currently it causes RedZ to enter a state of fatigue until her energy rebuilds itself. RedZ undergoes strict spiritual training in order to try and improve her energy consumption. The years peacefully went by without war or violence. RedZ continued to grow stronger and became a vital asset to her village. One day, RedZ was walking in a nearby valley as she toured the northern part of the island until she saw a Yoshi that caught her attention. The Yoshi was a blue Yoshi that had a pair of white fins on his back. A sword was also strapped to his back as well as a supply bag. RedZ calmly approached the Yoshi, who looked at her and smiled. The Yoshi revealed himself to be the Yoshian Guardian of Chaos. RedZ and the Yoshi soon introduced each other and had a calm discussion. RedZ informed Chaoshi that she heard about the Guardians and said that her people claimed that she was the Guardian of Courage. Chaoshi told her that what the villages said was absolutely true. RedZ was indeed the destined Guardian of Courage. RedZ couldn't believe that she was the destined one because she didn't think that she was entirely brave. RedZ invited Chaoshi to her village and he accepted. RedZ showed Chaoshi her home and allowed him to take part in a village feast. Unfortunately, her home came under attack by a small Koopa army and Bowser. RedZ tried to fight back, but she was quickly captured and placed in Bowser's possession. Chaoshi quickly fought off the Koopas and managed to reach Bowser. However, when he reached him, he saw RedZ fighting back against Bowser. After several minutes of fierce fighting, RedZ managed to defeat Bowser. Chaoshi soon approached her told her that she had just proven that she was worth the title. RedZ came to the realization that she was indeed a courageous fighter. She gladly accepted her title and Chaoshi blessed her by improving her inner energy. Chaoshi informed RedZ about how she can contact the other guardians and then soon left. Currently, RedZ acts as a guardian for her village, aiding it in any way possible. She now looks at herself proudly since she realized that she does serve an important in purpose in the world that she lives in today.

A Guide to Writing Style
Writing Style - The Bottom Line
Words are like sunbeams. The more they are condensed, the deeper they burn. - Robert Southey
Prose is architecture, not interior decorating. - Ernest Hemingway
Writing style is made up of two things: cadence and variation.
Good style is clear, readable, and invisible. Its purpose is not to attract attention to itself but to transport readers into the world of your story. If your readers notice your style without purposefully intending to study it, your style needs to be impro

On Goals and Success
How many of us are stuck in that rut of wanting to achieve something but we cant? "I can't make a web comic because I don't have the resources," "I can't play my favorite instrument because I don't have the time," "I can't become a writer because I suck at writing." It's in my belief that the only thing getting between us and our goals is the simple word "can't." It really is that simple. Drop the n't and you have "I can make a web comic," "I can play my favorite instrument," "I can become a writer." The rest of the sentence is just excuse. When you tell yourself you can achieve a goal, that's when success occurs.

Character Creation Tips
Note: I wrote this after reading a similar article in The Writer magazine about a year ago. Hope it's helpful!
Not all characters are created equal. Here are some steps to make yours superior.
1) Desire
Figure out what your character wants, needs, desires. A closer relationship with God? A place to belong? Just to survive? Figure it out. You cant move on to number 2 until you have.
2) Fear
Now that you know what your character most desires, you should be able to figure out what he/she most fears. Doing the wrong thing, being alone, death? They are the polar opposites of your characters desires.
3) History
