I always believed in never giving up,
no matter the odds that were placed against me.
She also felt this way, even with her life in the balance.
Not going to sit and do nothing,
she fought back,
determined to do what she could to live another day.

Her opponent came out of nowhere,
but she defended herself against the attack.
Her faith in Him and herself allowed her to be victorious that day.
The attacker would eventually return, stronger than ever.
Once again, she protected herself from the strike.
The beast would not leave though and fought back.
It would take a lot more effort to continue the fight, not willing to lose.

She knew that this would be no easy task.
However, there was help aplenty.
Support surrounded her at all sides.
Love covered her like a blanket,
increasing her already high faith.
The warmth of their hearts soothing her fears.
He also gave her support, even though He knew that her time to come home was nigh.

When the time was right, He told her that she needed to return to Him.
Saddened by the sudden call, she informed all that she held dear.
The feeling of grief did not last long though.
This was against her desires.
She knew that He told her now so that she can finish her deeds here, with us.

Even when things were at their darkest,
she is not phased at all.
Life continues to go on like any other day.
Sure, the clock was ticking,
but it mattered not.
Her valiant struggle would not cease to end.
Acceptance eventually came, waiting for the day.
She knew that He was waiting for her,
but she wanted to enjoy life one last time before she departed.

The battle finally ends.
She now flies amongst the clouds,
but neither she or her loved ones should look down in sadness.
No, they should look up with pride.
For she fought hard until the very end.
In the Lord's eyes, she did her task.
Success has been reached,
He smiles upon her as she soars into the sky.
Now she returns to the heavens to enjoy life above.
She shall eagerly wait for a reunion with her family,
but she will forever watch them as they enjoy life as much as her.

Her memory is forever stamped into our hearts and minds. Never will she be forgotten.
There is no reason for me to not be proud of this particular piece.:) Very happy with how this came out.:D

Poem belongs to me.

This is a very bittersweet poem... On one hand, I understand that she died, but that she's in a better place.

Personally, I think it would have read better as a story-- it seems more like a story forced into poem format-- but that's your call.

Good job; this made me smile and touched my heart. =) Thank you.
